My Mission

To enhance the physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual health of mothers, babies and families through education and loving support during pregnancy, childbirth and early parenthood.

Education is Empowerment

Doula Diary provides evidence based information that encourages informed decision making, preventive action, holistic approaches and an attitude of personal responsibility towards family health.

Doula Diary Values & Beliefs

Doula Diary is a service based on diversity and equality. I welcome any person at any stage of their birthing experience. No matter how you identify, how you choose to have your child/ren, your background, your race, ethnicity, age, ability, gender identity, sexual orientation or any other fabulous things that make you YOU.

Everything starts and ends with you. You are the birthing person, you are capable, you have complete authority and you make the decisions.

As a Birth Keeper, my role is to support your growth and development, and to offer emotional and physical support from the moment you engage with my services, to the moment you feel confident that your village can hold you and your new baby.

Together we can nurture curiosity and develop a deeper understanding about the wonders of the body, as it transforms during this wonderful process.

Birth partners are an invaluable part of this experience. Doula Diary support is extended to a birth partner of your choice.

Knowledge is power. So learning is at the core of Doula Diary. For me there is no mastery, birth has its own way of dancing through everybody and so with that in mind this experience is yours and my hand is here to guide you through this journey and, at times, learn with you.

Aims

Doula Diary is not a medical service. There will be no medical advice or opinions given and this is not a replacement service. How much you engage with medical services throughout your pregnancy is your decision however, medical advice does need to be considered seriously. As a Doula I aim to help you understand and navigate the medical system.

I will encourage and assist you with any research needed as well as supporting you to make informed decisions and advocating for you if requested.

Doula Diary aims to provide a holistic service during your pregnancy, birth and beyond. During your pregnancy we will look at how the body is functioning, what happens in birth and how it adapts and develops through the postpartum period.

We will discuss at length your birth and postpartum plan. Your wishes will be central to decision making and we will discuss how the birth partner and myself as a doula, will engage with yourself and any professionals involved in your pregnancy, the labour and the postnatal appointments.

Together we will talk through optimal birthing positions, aiming to reduce the need for any intervention during labour. My aim as a Doula is to help facilitate the birth that you want.

My aim is to eliminate any fear from your birthing space and watch as the empowerment from within, flourishes, turning you into a birthing warrior. The body already knows how to birth, I am here to help you reconnect the mind and the body through movement, breath work and emotional support.

The postpartum period is not to be overlooked. Pre birth we will discuss a plan on how best you can be supported.
