Rooted & Ready: Birth, Baby & Beyond Group Antenatal Course
📍 Swarthmoor Hall
🕕 Mondays 6–8:30pm
👫 Birth partners included
Expecting a baby and not sure where to start?
Join our practical, friendly antenatal course designed to help you feel confident, informed and prepared for birth, newborn life and everything in between.
Whether this is your first baby or you’re looking for a refresher, you’ll leave with useful information, hands-on skills, answers to your questions and the reassurance that you’re not figuring it all out alone.
This isn’t about being told there’s one “right” way to give birth or parent. It’s about understanding your options, learning what to expect, and finding what works for your family.
You’ll also have the chance to meet other local parents who are at a similar stage of pregnancy, building connections before your babies arrive.
What You’ll Learn
7th September - Birth – How It Actually Works
Understand what’s happening in your body during labour, how birth hormones work, what helps labour progress and how to create the best environment for birth.
14th September - Making Decisions With Confidence
Learn about your choices, birth rights, induction, caesarean birth and how to feel informed if plans change.
21st September - What Partners Can Actually Do
Discover practical ways birth partners can provide support during labour, including comfort measures, massage, positioning, advocacy and emotional support.
28th September - Life With a Newborn
What to expect in those early days and weeks, realistic expectations, recovery after birth, baby care essentials and looking after yourselves too.
5th October - Feeding Your Baby
Evidence-based guidance from a Lactation Consultant covering breastfeeding, responsive feeding, common challenges and how partners can support the feeding journey.
12th October Recap, Integration & Social Celebration
Space to revisit key themes, ask final questions, connect with other parents and celebrate the journey into parenthood together.
